A suitcase you can't close is among the most common transition-dream images. The 'packing too much' problem translates directly to the psyche's tendency to carry too much of the past into new life chapters: old resentments, outdated beliefs, expired relationships.
Finding a suitcase that isn't yours, or one filled with unknown items, suggests that you are about to take on something that belongs to someone else's story — a family legacy, an inherited situation, a role that was shaped by predecessors.
An empty suitcase is potent in its blankness. Rather than loss, it can represent readiness — the capacity to travel lightly, to begin fresh without the accumulated cargo of the past.
